TBP TEAM BE LIKE

What kind of party is it?

“What it is, You know they know, What it is
We know y’all know, What is is
Ecstatic there it is”

If you have never been to a Tunis Block Party then get ready to dive deep into Hip Hop culture on 10th of MAY, as TBP is:

TUNIS’ FINEST HIP HOP GATHERING

It is a kind of a bubble connecting the Tunisian Hip Hop community through sweat, passion & exchange based on 4 Hip Hop elements: Rap, DJing, B-boying & Graffiti, born out of a collaboration between three Hip Hop Collectives, UPPER UNDERGROUND CREW, DEBO & FRD&FRIENDS.

Its first edition did look like this:

BREAKING STEREOTYPES

TBP have already broken stereotypes on its two first editions by introducing the Hip Hop elements to the Tunisian nightlife community as Hip Hop music & Rap shows is all what we could find before TBP hits Carpe Diem Outdoor with some Graffiti performances, DJing, B-boying and Rap BATTLES.

Then comes the TBP third edition with a one of a kind guest, mistah Mos Def and a one of kind tickets’ price that invites every Hip Hop artist and enthusiast to save money for the thing he or she loves the most…: Breaking a major stereotype about Hip Hop Events that, unlike some others, are to be attended for free!

MOS DEF: A MOS needed Hip Hop THERAPY

Google

Yasiin Bey, best known by his stage name Mos Def, is an American Hip Hop recording artist, actor, and activist.

That’s a Wikipedia Intro guys. As Mos Def seems to be a multipotentialite, his fans must vary as much as his art does! Personally, Yasiin Bey is the man who made my daily two-hour trip to university BEARABLE for over 3 years!

Not only did I have to catch the train and bus but also my Mos Def’s favorites beats & rhymes:

I could Escúchela, La Ciudad Respirando, telling me that “This ain’t no time where the usual is suitable” reminding me that there’s “So much on my mind that I can’t recline” inviting me to “Breathe in” and “inhale vapors from bright stars that shine” helping me control my anxious thoughts.

For some reasons “Because the high is high and the low is low” is my favorite Ghetto Rock line, check Mos Def performing it on his spoken word poetry television series: DEF JAM POETRY.

Then comes AUDITORIUM and its enlightening lyrics for all those who had their “ eyes go teary” and “mind grow weary” …

In brief, “It’s simple mathematics” !

WHATCHU WAITIN FOR!

Get hydrated, wear your good vibes and join the Tribe called Tunis Block Party!
